GALATIANS 6

Ἀδελφοί, ἐὰν καὶ προλημφθῇ ἄνθρωπος

Brothers, if any person is overtaken

ἔν τινι παραπτώματι

is overtaken by some transgression

ὑμεῖς οἱ πνευματικοὶ

you who are spiritual

καταρτίζετε τὸν τοιοῦτον

should repair such a man

ἐν πνεύματι πραΰτητος

in the spirit of gentleness

σκοπῶν σεαυτὸν

taking care

μὴ καὶ σὺ πειρασθῇς

that you are not tempted

Ἀλλήλων τὰ βάρη βαστάζετε

bear one another’s burdens

καὶ οὕτως ἀναπληρώσετε

and in this way you will fulfil

τὸν νόμον τοῦ Χριστοῦ

the law of Christ

εἰ γὰρ δοκεῖ τις εἶναί

for if anyone thinks himself to be something

τι μηδὲν ὤν

φρεναπατᾷ ἑαυτόν.

then he deceives himself

δοκιμαζέτω ἕκαστος,

ὅτι ὁ σπείρων εἰς τὴν σάρκα ἑαυτοῦ

because the one who sows to his own flesh

θερίσει φθοράν

will reap corruption

ἐκ τῆς σαρκὸς

from the flesh

ὁ δὲ σπείρων εἰς τὸ πνεῦμα

but the one who sows to the Spirit

θερίσει ζωὴν αἰώνιον.

will reap eternal life

ἐκ τοῦ πνεύματος

from the Spirit

μὴ ἐγκακῶμεν,

so let us not lose enthusiasm

τὸ δὲ καλὸν ποιοῦντες

for doing what is good

γὰρ…θερίσομεν

for we will reap

καιρῷ…ἰδίῳ

in due course

μὴ ἐκλυόμενοι.

if we do not give up

Ἄρα οὖν ὡς καιρὸν ἔχομεν,

ἐργαζώμεθα τὸ ἀγαθὸν πρὸς πάντας,

μάλιστα δὲ πρὸς τοὺς οἰκείους τῆς πίστεως.

Ἴδετε πηλίκοις…γράμμασιν

ὑμῖν…ἔγραψα τῇ ἐμῇ χειρί.

Ὅσοι θέλουσιν

εὐπροσωπῆσαι ἐν σαρκί,

to make a good showing in the flesh

οὗτοι ἀναγκάζουσιν ὑμᾶς περιτέμνεσθαι,

those people would compel you to be circumcised

μόνον ἵνα…μὴ διώκωνται

only so that they may not be persecuted

τῷ σταυρῷ τοῦ Χριστοῦ

for the cross of Christ

οὐδὲ γὰρ οἱ περιτεμνόμενοι αὐτοὶ

for not even the circumcised themselves

νόμον φυλάσσουσιν

guard the law

ἀλλὰ θέλουσιν ὑμᾶς περιτέμνεσθαι

but they want you to be circumcised

ἵνα…καυχήσωνται

so that they might boast

ἐν τῇ ὑμετέρᾳ σαρκὶ

in your flesh

Ἐμοὶ δὲ μὴ γένοιτο καυχᾶσθαι

εἰ μὴ ἐν τῷ σταυρῷ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ,

except about the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ

δι᾽ οὗ ἐμοὶ κόσμος ἐσταύρωται

through whom the world is crucified to me

κἀγὼ κόσμῳ.

for neither circumcision nor uncircumcision

(may) the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ

μετὰ τοῦ πνεύματος ὑμῶν, ἀδελφοί· ἀμήν.
