The French Revolution was a period of political and social change in France from 1789 to 1799mIt started when people rebelled against the king and the nobles who mistreated them. They stormed a prison called the Bastille and declared France a republic. The revolution ended when a general named Napoleon took over the government and became the ruler of France. The French Revolution influenced many other countries with its ideas of freedom and equality.
