Fuel Flashcards
Max Fuel Imbalance
Takeoff = 450lb
Flight and landing = 900lb
Sequence of fuel burn off?
Forward, Aft, Center, Wing, Feed
What is the FQMC?
Fluid Quantity Management Computer
What is the disadvantage of gravity refueling?
Can only fill Wing and Feed tanks.
How is fuel pressure created?
Excess fuel from the engine driven fuel pump is sent to the feed tank jet pumps creating motive flow through use of transfer jet pumps.
Where can re/defueling be controlled?
Panel on side of plane or SMC.
How could the wing tanks be connected?
by using the gravity Interconnect valve
How can fuel be actively balanced?
By use of the X-flow valve and activation of the STBY Fuel pump on the heavy wing side.
How is fuel pressure supplied for engine start?
by use of the STBY fuel pump.
How is fuel supplied to the APU during start?
right feed tank. procedure calls for activation of the STBY fuel pump since no motive flow
Can the G280 dump fuel in flight? How?
Yes, by selecting the fuel Jettison buttons. This will open jettison valves and turn on the respective side STBY pump.
L FUEL LEVEL LOW (amber)
Less than 580 lb on left side total
L FEED FUEL LVL LOW
Less than 280 lb in left feed tank
Where can approved fuel types and additives be found?
AFM 1-73 (Engine Fuel) or QRH
