Fuel Flashcards
How is the Centre Wing Tank fuel scavenged?
4 jet pumps that pump into main tanks 2 and 3. Begins when main 2 & 3 fuel quantity decreases to approximately 27200kg. (LCF 40200lbs)
Pump will operate for approx 2 hours or until scavenge pump pressure is low; whichever occurs first
Which crossfeed valves are controlled by fuel system logic when setting T/O flaps?
Crossfeed Valves 2 & 3
What fuel tank quantity are you required to have selected CWT pumps on for Before Start Procedure?
Greater than or Equal to 7700kg
(17000lbs LCF)
Describe how fuel quantity indication changes upon termination of fuel jettison
Fuel to remain changes from magenta to white, and flashes for 5 seconds
What is the impact on the aircraft with an excessive fuel imbalance?
Adversely affects C of G
Creates more aerodynamic drag
Reduces fuel economy
When do the Fuel System Management Cards open the reserve tank transfer valves?
400: Main 2 or 3 decreases to approx 18200kg
LCF: Main 2 or 3 decreases to approx 40200lbs
-8: Main 1 or 4 decreases to approx 6100kg
In which tank is the fuel temperature measured from?
Main tank 1
Which fuel tanks do reserve 1 and 4 transfer to in the -8?
Main tank 1 and 4
Fuel Jettison in LCF, transfer valves open when main 2 and 3 decrease to?
20000lbs
In the -8, what fuel quantity will fuel jettison complete to with selector on MLW?
Max Landing Weight + 3000kg
