Auto Flight & Flight Instuments Flashcards
How do you re-engage the AT if pitch mode is V/S ALT or G/S?
Push the SPD switch
How do you re-engage the AT when pitch mode is in VNAV___ or FLCH?
Cycle the AT arm switch off then back to ARM
What function is reflected if the THR switch light..
Remains extinguished: Thrust limit function
Illuminated: A/T mode function
How do you deselect the approach mode after LOC and G/S capture?
-Select TOGA or
-Disengage A/P & both FD switches off
Can the glide slope be captured prior to LOC intercept?
No: Glide slope capture is inhibited until localizer capture and the intercept angle is with in 80 degrees of the localizer course.
What does an amber horizontal line displayed through an active pitch or roll mode indicate?
A flight mode fault is detected
When will VNAV activate during takeoff?
400ft above runway elevation
When is TOGA mode terminated after take off?
By selecting another pitch and roll mode, or by activation of (armed) LNAV/VNAV modes
In flight, when is TOGA armed?
Flaps out of UP OR
Glide slope captured
On approach, with first push of TOGA, what active AT mode would FMA display with AT armed?
THR.
Second Push: THR REF
What climb rate is achieved during a go around with one TOGA push?
2000fpm climb
With the APP switch selected, what altitude will the electrical buses isolate allowing multiple AP engagement for auto land ops?
Below 1500’ RA
Describe the condition that would cause VNAV ALT to be the pitch mode?
A conflict between VNAV profile and MCP altitude
What is the maximum intercept angle that the LOC will capture with APP or LOC mode armed?
120degrees
During auto land, what action normally disconnects the AT?
A reverse thrust lever is raised to reverse idle.
