Fuel Flashcards
When must the FUEL XFEED knob be set to off?
Takeoff;
Landing;
GA
Which MFD page provides a visual representation of the fuel system operation and parameters?
FUEL synoptic page.
What color are the total and individual tank quantities and fuel temperature indications when in the normal range?
Green.
When the total fuel quantity is displayed in red, which aural warning is played twice?
“FUEL”
Can fuel be transferred from one tank to the other?
No.
How does the crossfeed valve allow corrections in the event of a fuel load imbalance?
It allows both engines and/or APU to be fed by one tank.
Which CAS message is displayed on the EICAS when the difference between the current and expected fuel quantity is higher than 800 lbs for 5 minutes?
Amber FUEL LEAK SUSPECTED.
How many fuel pumps does each fuel tank have?
Main A, backup B, and two scavenge pumps.
What controls the main A pump when the fuel pump is in the AUTO position?
FADEC of the respective engine.
What controls the backup B pump when the fuel pump is in the AUTO position?
FCU.
List the four times when the backup B pump will be automatically commanded on when the Fuel Pump Selector is in the AUTO position?
– during engine start;
– APU start or run;
– fuel low pressure detection; and
– main (A) pump failure when the Fuel Pump Selector is in AUTO position.
When will the amber FUEL WING IMBALANCE message be displayed on the EICAS?
When the imbalance is higher than 510 lbs.
Where is the pressure refueling point and REFUELING/DEFUELING control panel located?
Forward of the right wing fuselage.
How long does the system pre-check on the REFUELING/DEFUELING panel take to verify fuel system operation?
10 seconds.
Which switch on the REFUELING/DEFUELING panel enables pressure refueling with the airplane energized by either the APU/GPU or battery power?
The POWER SELECTION switch.
What should happen if STOP REFUEL is displayed on the REFUELING/DEFUELING panel during the refueling process?
The process shall be halted manually by the operator (REFUELING switch to OFF position).
Can the tanks be refueled using the gravity refuel port on the top of each wing?
Yes
What are the two different methods to refuel the airplane?
Pressure or gravity.
What are the two different methods that the airplane can be defueled?
Pressure or suction.
Can the FWD and VRTL tanks in the Praetor 600 be refueled via gravity?
Yes, via refuel ports on the right hand side of each aux tank.
How is fuel transferred from the FWD or VRTL tanks and where?
Automatically to both wings simultaneously.
Can fuel be transferred between FWD and VTRL tanks?
No, only to the wing tanks.
If the AUTO function of the fuel panel for the FWD/VTRL tanks fail, how do we access the remaining fuel?
By selecting either FWD or VTRL on the FUEL TRANSFER panel.
When is TRANSFER operations from the FWD or VTR tanks not allowed?
During XFEED operation, takeoff, landing, or GA
What is the total fuel capacity of the Legacy 450, Praetor 500, and Praetor 600?
Legacy 450 = 12,220
Praetor 500 = 13,146
Praetor 600 = 16,262
What is the total usable fuel for the Legacy 450, Praetor 500, and Praetor 600?
Legacy 450 = 12,130
Praetor 500 = 13,058
Praetor 600 = 16,138
What is the maximum fuel temperature for takeoff?
52° C.
