What systems make up the Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS)?
The flight director (FD), autopilot (AP), and auto throttles (AT).
What panel hosts the AP, FD and AT, plus lateral and vertical reference/mode selection and course selection?
Auto Flight Control System (AFCS) panel.
What does pushing the FD button on the AFCS do?
Engages and disengages FD on both PFDs.
What does pushing the AT button on the AFCS do?
Engages and disengages the AT.
What dues the outer ring on the SPD knob do?
Selects the source of the speed reference between MAN and FMS.
What does pushing the HDG button on the AFCS do?
The HDG Button selects heading mode when pushed once and
alternates with roll mode if pushed again.
Pushing the BANK button on the AFCS will toggle between what bank angles?
30° and 15° bank angle.
What is the up and down range of the FPA mode?
9.9° up and down.
How can the flight path angle/reference line be selected.
Rotating the FPA knob.
What do the inner and outer knobs of the ALT knob select?
The inner toggles between feet and meters.
The inner selects 1000 feet altitude increments.
The outer selects 100 feet altitude increments.
What does pushing the SRC button do?
Alternates between the PFD 1 or PFD 2 FMA modes as source (SRC)
for the autopilot.
When the autopilot is engaged, what does pushing the TCS button on the sidestick do?
Allows the pilot to maneuver the airplane without disconnecting the autopilot as long as you are not in TO/GA mode.
Where are the AT/DISC buttons located? The TO/GA buttons?
AT - Thrust levers and AT button on AFCS
TO/GA - Thrust levers
With the AP engaged, will the AP disengage if force is applied to the side stick in any direction?
Yes
What are the two FD cues presented?
Magenta circle and takeoff crossbars.
