Fuel Flashcards
What is the total fuel capacity?
5678 pounds or 2839 per tank.
The main engine driven pump provides fuel to the MFC. What if this pump fails?
Engine power will be lost. The Aux Pumps cannot provide the pressure for the engine to remain running.
The ECU (EEC) main function is to refine fuel scheduling. What if it fails?
Fuel schedule refining will be lost, torque will increase 8-10% on the affected engine. Also, HBOV and propeller underspeed protection will be lost.
Three parts of the fuel tanks?
Main tank- Scavenge/Ejector pumps and swing check valves deliver from the main tank to collector tank.
Collector Bay- Fuel goes directly to engine driven pump from here.
Surge tank- Allows overflow through NACA ducts in case of overfueling. Also allows fuel tanks to pressurize during flight.
Why can’t fuel be transferred if the Refuel/Defuel switch is left on?
The refuel/defuel system uses the aux pumps and transfer system for fueling.
Fuel Low Caution light means?
Low Fuel caution means less than 130 lbs. in the collector bay (12 minutes)
Is the APU allowed to be on during fueling?
Yes, as long as it is single point. Overwing fueling requires the APU to be shutdown.
