What is the objective of the consumption/usage monitoring report and trend analysis?
]Consumption and adoption are leading indicators of a customer’s intent to renew. Three related Services are covered by this confluence page:
Consumption/ Usage Monitoring Report: Provide a customized report out (Consumption Snapshot) comparing what a customer has purchased to what they have consumed that can be created on demand for both existing customers and sales prospects. Customers can access standard usage/consumption report from My Services Cloud Portal. Internally the same reports can be accessed from CLM links (refer to the confluence page instructions). Please review the available standard consumption report using CLM link and related information from MOS Doc ID 2512770.1 before requesting a Customized report.
Consumption/ Usage Trend Analysis: Review the results of the Consumption/ Usage Monitoring Report to discover trends, as well as pinpoint any areas of concerns where action may be necessary. On a quarterly basis review these trends and any areas of concern with the customer.
Quarterly Adoption & Consumption Review: Perform a high level consumption/ usage review with our customers leadership during regular QBRs.
What is the customer value of the consumption/usage monitoring report and trend analysis?
Consumption/ Usage Monitoring Report:
Give the customer a better understanding of how completely and effectively they are using the licenses available to them.
Provide the CSM with a set of hard data points that support the success planning process, specifically with the development of business objectives and recommendations.
Consumption/ Usage Trend Analysis:
Identify consumption trends and areas of concern regarding consumption as early as possible.
Provide the CSM with a deeper understanding of that consumption data to support the success planning process, specifically with the development of business objectives and recommendations. When combined with tools such as the BPB and KPI Advisor this allows for a more data driven approach to value realization.
Quarterly Adoption & Consumption Review: Provides the opportunity for your customer’s leadership to see and discuss summary details on consumption and adoption
What is the Consumption/ Usage Monitoring Report?
A product specific report that displays both historic and current: entitlement, consumption, and usage (where available and applicable) data for a customer. Notably they also provide a standardized, yet product specific, output that can be created for a customer on demand.
What is the The Consumption/ Usage Trend Analysis?
The Consumption/ Usage Trend Analysis service item is a continuation of the Consumption/ Usage Monitoring Report. For this item, the CSM performs a trend analysis of multiple months of consumption and usage data highlighting areas of concern, positive growth trends, and any warning signs from the data. This trend analysis can be used:
During the regular success planning process and specifically in the development of appropriate business objectives and recommendations.
To support a quarterly consumption trend analysis discussion with the customer as a part of the regular operations review.
What is the Quarterly Adoption & Consumption Review?
The Quarterly Adoption & Consumption Review service item is a continuation, and culmination of sorts, of the Consumption/ Usage Monitoring Report, Consumption/ Usage Trend Analysis. For this item, the CSM performs a high level review of the Consumption and Adoption metrics and trends that were identified in the other service items with the customers leadership during the regularly scheduled QBR.
There is no additional work required for this service item beyond evaluating which consumption or adoption graphs/trends to address during the QBR and adding slides to the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) deck with those graphs. Charts and Graphs from the Consumption Snapshot and the Feature Adoption Read-Out can be added to a PPT slide by using a screen capture software to create an image from the pdf files. For those with the knowledge, the graphs can also be directly embedded into PPT from the excel files.
What are some reasons the Quarterly Adoption & Consumption Review would be used?
A Success Plan in place that should impact adoption or consumption.
Areas of growth, especially if we had an impact and can point that out.
Areas of concern. Do not use the QBR to bring up new areas of concern. Any potential worries discussed in the QBR should have already been discussed and presented to the customer in an operations review meeting.
