12th Amendment
early 1800’s
instead of every elector voting for president and VP, the person with the most voters was president and second is VP
new version- elector votes for a set of two people

20th Amendment
1933
president inauguration day moved up from march 4th to january 20th
22nd Amendment
1950
Limits all presidents to two terms or a total of ten years
23rd Amendment
1961
Gave people in Washington DC three electoral votes and allows them to vote for president
25th Amendment
If vacancies in role of VP, the president now picks new VP and both chambers of congress have to approve
If VP becomes president, they stay president for the rest of the term
Let’s the VP temporarily become president when the president cannot perform duties

-electoral college, where each state had the number of electors as the sum of its senators and representatives
-vice president in a joint session has majority, he then becomes president if no candidate has majority votes, the house decides president and senate chooses vice president

Vice president becomes president of president dies, resigns, removed, or cannot carry out duties
what is compensation for the president
-President will be payed a salary that cannot change during his term of office
-President should not receive any other compensation or gifts of services from foreign countries or others
How does removal of the president happen
President, vice president, and other officers can be removed from office on impeachment and other conviction for bribery, treason, and other crimes
