A
  • hard to find
  • hard to find plant fossils
  • can’t assume everything has been fossilised e.g. jellyfish are too soft to fossilise

how are fossils made?

A
  • remains of an ancient plant or animal turn into fossils
  • old fossils can be ancient, but movement of ground pushes them together and causes a mountain to be created, overtime weathering can break down top of a mountain and fossil will appear on above ground
