Q

what is the process for mitosis?

A

a cell is taken ➡️ chromosomes in nucleus make clones ➡️ chromosomes line up in centre of cell ➡️ copies operate and move ➡️ cell splits in two ➡️ forms 2 daughter cells

Q

what happens to the 46 chromosomes?

A

somatic cell of 46 ➡️ doubles to get 92 called DNA replication ➡️ 92 splits in half foe cell division of 2 sets of 46 ➡️ now have 2 genetically identical daughter cells

Q

what is the process of meiosis?

A

cell duplicates its DNA ➡️ in 1st division chromosomes pair and line up ➡️ pairs are pulled apart ➡️ some chromosomes from each parent go into new cell ➡️ 2nd division chromosome line up in middle again ➡️ arms of chromosomes pulled apart ➡️ 4 gametes produced
