Stage 1: - solutes and water move from blood into bowmans capsule

• dissolved solutes move from areas of high pressure to areas of lower
• 2.5 times greater pressure then normal capillary bed
• filtered molecule include protein, blood, platelets
• filtrate formed in bowmans capsule, called glumerular filtrate

Stage 2: - solutes and water move from nephron back into blood

• reabsorption of water and solutes are changed in response to hormonal signals

Stage 3: - waste from blood into the nephron(primarily distal tubule)
- includes nitrogenous waste
