What was forfeiture?
A
If anyone failed to obey their lord, or did not provide the taxes or services they owed, they could be punished with the loss of their land. This was called forfeiture.

What happened to peasants which we’re forfeited?
A
For peasants it often meant that they became un-free villeins.
