Force Field Analysis Flashcards

1
Q

What is force field analysis?

A

Force field analysis is a model which can determine if the positive forces of a change outweigh the negative forces of a change.
For a change to go ahead, the amount of driving forces should outweigh the restraining forces.

Q

How do you step five, Evaluate?

A

Evaluate the plan and it’s response, determining how effective it will be. If it seems the plan will be successful, the change can then be put into effect.

Q

What are the advantages of Force field analysis?

A
  • Provides a clear indication of the for and against forces of the change
  • Provides clear instructions on how to minimize restraining forces
  • Provides insight on if the change is worth making
  • Identifies the most important factors of the change

Q

What is the disadvantages of force field analysis?

A
  • Identifying forces and weighting them is subjective based on the person conducting the analysis
  • Focuses strongly on the current state of the business rather than the future state
  • requires time, effort and resources to be thorough
