Foot mediolateral Flashcards
1
Q
- How should the foot be positioned for this image?
A
Roll onto affected side, dorsiflex foot 90 degrees
2
Q
- How should the plantar surface of the foot be in relationship to the IR?
A
Perpendicular to IR
3
Q
- What is the central ray location?
A
base of 3rd metatarsal
4
Q
- How should the talar domes be demonstrated in a true lateral foot?
A
superimposed on top of each other
5
Q
- If one talar dome is anterior to the other, what positioning error does this indicate? What’s the next anatomy that you should look at to determine what error was made?
A
Rotated, toes elevated or heel elevated. Also look at tibia and fibula. Fibula is in posterior half of tibia if not rotated.
6
Q
- In a properly positioned lateral foot, where should the fibula be demonstrated in relation to the tibia? If it’s not, what positioning error does this indicate?
A
Fibula should be in posterior half of tibia, if not there is rotation. If toes are elevated the fibula moves anterior and if heel is elevated fibula moves posterior to tibia.
