Arthrography Flashcards
Most commonly performed arthrography?
Shoulder
What is the difference between a single vs double contrast study?
Single is only using air or gas, and double is using both opaque and pneumoarthrography.
What contrast medium is used in a single contrast study?
Water soluble contrast
What pathology is commonly being evaluated during a shoulder arthrogram?
partial or complete tear of rotator cuff, consistent pain
What images are commonly taken by the radiographer after contrast is injected for a shoulder arthrogram?
AP internal or external, grashey, inferosuperior axial, tangential projection
CR location?
1/2” inferior and 1/2” lateral or coracoid process
If a patient is going to MRI, what type of contrast will be used?
Gatolineum based
What pathology is commonly being evaluated during a wrist arthrogram?
How much damage is occuring to bones from arthritis
CR location for wrist arthro?
Dorsal wrist at radius, scaphoid, lunate articulation
What images are commonly taken after contrast is injected for wrist?
PA/lateral, both obliques
What pathology is commonly being evaluated during a hip arthrogram?
Congenital hip displasia, hip prosthesis is loose
