Normal ~700ml/day
High output >1000ml/day
Rx: fluids, loperamide or codeine

Phosphate (low)

Rhabdolyosis Resp insufficient Arrhythmias Shock Seizures
What is the formaula for burns fluid resuscitation in the first 24’hours?
4ml x (total burn surface %) x (body weight kg)
50% in first 8 hours
50 % in the next 16hours
What fluid would you choose for burns resuscitation and why?
Crystaliod eg ringers or Hartmanns
Because Colliod causes more fluid in the interstitial compartment
After 24 hours - give colloid infusion and crystalid infusion.
What’s the max flow rate through an orange 14g cannula and grey 16g cannula?
14g - 270ml/min
16g - 180ml/min
