Florizel 1. Flashcards
Quote
“I bless the time my good falcon made her flight across thy fathers ground”
Overview
This is the first time we seen Perdita and Florizel together in which he swoons over the beauty of Perdita while she is insecure within her status and acutely aware that she is in a costume
Analysis
Florizel disregards the idea of the class system and despite Perditas stance he still views her as a god and thanks the day that he met her
Dramatic Method
Costume, these costumes in which they are wearing confirms Floizels love for Perdita and her humbleness as he sees nothing but goodness within her despite of her attire. These costumes give the affect of unconditional love as he rejects any class system.
Religious allusion through the word bless as he uses religious terminology to thank the day that he met her showing further his love for her.
Context
This is a reference to the source text of Pandasto as this is how the romance within this play met as the man was hawking near where his partner lives
