Flight controls 747-400 Flashcards
Aileron lockout system.
When is it locked, and when is it inhibited?
Locked above 235Kts and inhibited with flaps extended.
What happends to the artificial elevator feel force if you loose hyd system 2 and 3?
Feelforce is by springs, and airspeed reference is lost.
Describe the elevator artificial feel force.
Powered by hydraulic systems 2 and 3. Increasing force with increase in airspeed.
Which part of the elevator system is inoperative with the loss of hyd system 1?
The left outboard elevator.
With the loss of hyd system 3, what happens to the upper yaw damper?
The upper yaw damper fails.
During flap extension hyd system 4 fails. What happens to the TE flaps?
The outboard TE flaps will operate electrically on secondary and the inboard TE flaps would operate hydraulically on the primary.
With the loss of Hyd Sys 4, when deflecting the elevator, what will you see on the status page?
Only the left elevator would be indicated.
In flight, pulling the speedbrake lever to flight detent will show what on the status page?
Left spoiler up, right spoiler down.
What happens to the trim rate if the stab trim cutout switch for hyd sys 3 is in the cutout position?
Half trim rate for alternate and control wheel trim.
Where in the flap lever are the gates and their purpose?
1 and 20
1 to prevent retraction of LE flaps
20 to prevent retraction of TE during G/A past G/A setting.
When the SPEEDBRAKE lever is pulled in flight, what spoilers extend?
All 4 inboard spoilers.
Up to what flaps position should the speedbrakes be used?
Up to flaps 10 only.
What flaps are extended in position 1?
All inboard LE flaps only.
What flaps are extended in position 5?
All LE flaps and position 5 for TE flaps.
What trim is inhibited during autoland?
The stabilizer trim on the yoke.
