What are the requirements for a CAT IIIa approach?

A

RVR: TDZ RVR must be operative and controlling

     Mid or Rollout RVR should also be operating

     Mid or Rollout minimum RVR is 200m or TDZ  
     required  value, whichever is less.

Wind: X-wind: 15kts, Tailwind 15kts, Headwind 25Kts.
CAL Specific limits?

Braking action: Medium or better

Landing distance: 15% that is included in OPT

Max LOC dev: Flashing

Max GS dev: Flashing

Windshear: Not reported

Rain: No heavy precipitation

Min/Max GS angle: 2.5 / 3.5

When to Go around on a CAT IIIa approach?

A

1) If not stabilized
2) Any of the ground equipment becomes inop after OM/FAF.
3) Any of the ground equipment becomes inop after 500 above TDZ.
4) “NO AUTOLAND” below alert height: 200RA
5) Over or passed DH with no adequate visual ref.
6) Over or passed DH and aircraft not in good position for safe landing.
