Flight Controls Flashcards
Automatic Retraction System (ARS)
Used for heavyweight operatiuons when S speed is greater than or near the 1+F speed (215 kts). Automatically retracts flaps as the speed increases through 200 kts.
Flap Load Relief System
In the event of a flap overspeed by 2.5 kts in config 2, 3, or Full, the flaps will retract one position.
RELIEF is displayed on the upper ECAM
After the aircraft slows 2.5 kts below Vfe the flaps reextend
Slats ALPHA/SPEED Lock Function
Slat retraction from 1 to 0 inhibited when speed drops below 148 kts or Alpha exceeds 8.5°.
If Alpha reduced to 8.2° and the speed exceeds 154 kts the slats will retract to 0.
Aileron Droop (config 1, 1+F, 2)
1: no droop/no Flaps extended
1+F: 5° droop
2: 10° droop
Can you land the aircraft with speedbrakes extended?
Yes
Criteria for ground spoiler deployment during landing:
Armed: Main landing gear compression with thrust IDLE.
Not Armed: Main landing gear compression, at least one engine in reverse. note: in a crosswind scenario, with only one gear compressed, spoilers will only partially deploy until the second gear is compressed to allow a smoother touchdown
