Flight Control Laws Flashcards
1
Q
Explain Normal Law
A
Protects the a/c throughout the flight envelops, as follows:
- Load factor limitation
- Pitch attitude limitation
- High AOA protection
- High speed protection
2
Q
What Protections are available in Normal Law?
A
-Bank : 67 degrees max, > 33 lose auto trim and if released returns to 33, > 45 AP/FD turn off, < 40 FD returns.
-Yaw : dampening and trun coordination
-Pitch : 25-30 nose up, flaps 0-3, FD off/on 25/22
: 20-25 nose up, flaps full, FD off/on 25/22
: 15 nose down, all config, FD off/on 13/10
-AOA : Vmax, VLS, Alpha PROT, ALPHA MAX
-Load : Clean -1.0 to +2.5
: Slats/flaps 0 to +2.5
-Speed : VMO+6, A FLOOR on FMA and EWD
3
Q
Explain Alternate Law
A
- The a/c goes into alternate law when there are multiple failures of redundant systems.
- Some protections are lost.
4
Q
What protections are available in alternate law?
A
- Bank : No protection
- Yaw : Dampening only
- Pitch : No protection
- AOA : VLS, VSW
- Load : Normal
- Speed : Stabilities, it will vary
5
Q
How do you know that you are in Alternate Law?
A
- The green dashes for pitch and bank protections turn to amber “x”
- VLS
- VSW (red and black)
