What is flexibility?
The ability to move all joints fluidly through their complete range of movement
What are the 3 types of stretching?
Static, ballistic and PNF
What is static stretching?
When an individual holds the position, keeping the body drill for the duration of the stretch (5-10 seconds)
What is ballistic stretching?
Involved fast, jerky movements involving the whole range of the joints motion
What is the PNF stretching?
Performed with someone so something to create a resistance. Stretch to max - hold for 6-10 seconds - relax - repeat
What are 2 different types of static stretching?
Static active and static passive
What is static active?
Where athlete performs the stretch independently by applying internal force
What is static passive?
Requires the help of another person or object to apply external force
