What is Heart Rate?
The number of times your heart beats per minuted. It is measured in the beats per minute (bpm)
What is resting heart rate?
Your heart rate at rest
What is maximum heart rate?
The maximum recommended safe heart rate for an individual during exercise
How do you calculate your maximum heart rate?
220- age
What does rpe stand for
Rating of perceived exertion
What is the Borge scale?
A scale which ranges between 6-20 where 6 is no exertion and 20 is maximum exertion. The individual would choose a number between that which reflects how hard they think they worked
How would you use the Borg scale to predict rpe?
RPE x 10= heart rate
What is the aerobic training zone?
60-85% of your maximum heart rate
What is the anaerobic training zone?
85%-95%
What is the speed training zone?
95%- max
How do you calculate someone’s target zone? (Aerobic training zone)
220- age = HR
HR x 0.60=
HR x 0.85=
