Why did it take the Lapita so much longer to arrive in Oceania than the Papuans?
The Lapita took tons of pit stops throughout Asia and even parts of Russia.
Where did the Lapita come from, and finally settle?
They traveled from south to the east Asia, and settled in Micronesia and Polynesia.
Who are the aboriginal people?
The indigenous people of Australia. Papuans.
Were the Papuans skin lighter or darker?
Darker. They got more sunlight and therefore needed more protection and less vitamin D, so their bodies created more melanin to make them darker.
Were the Lapitas skin lighter or darker?
Lighter. They were used to places like Russia with less sunlight. Their bodies needed more vitamin D and less protection, so their skin had less melanin.
Where was the last place Lapitas settled?
New Zealand
