Lie the person down and raise the injured part to reduce blood flow.
Press a clean pad on the wound and maintain pressure for 10 minutes.
Remove loose dirt but do not probe the wound.
Apply a clean dressing firmly to the wound.

NOTE - If anything is lodged in the wound put the dressing around it.
