Name that tumor: Small, mobile, firm mass with sharp edges in the stroma and most common in patients under 35. When does it enlarge and increase in tenderness? is it a precursor to breast cancer? is it benign or malignant?
Fibroadenoma. increases in size and tenderness with estrogen (pregnancy and prior to menstruation). NOT a precursor to cancer. Benign.
Name that tumor: small tumor that grows in lactiferous ducts and typically is beneath the areola. it results in a serous or bloody nipple. is there an increased risk of cancer?
intraductal papilloma. yes (1.5-2x) increase in risk for carcinoma.
Name that tumor: large bulky mass of CT and cysts and most common in the 5th decade. what type of projections are associated with this?
Phyllodes tumor. ‘leaf-like’ projections. (older women like to garden- plants/leaves)

Lactational mastitis. Dicloxacillin and continued breastfeeding.
