What do you do when you discover fire?
R - remove all persons in danger
A - activate fire alarm
R - report to fire command centre
C - contain the fire
E - evacuate if fire is out of control
-What are the procedure of evacuation?
- All staff shall lock important documents, cash, shut off medical gases, equipment etc. Do not make unnecessary calls to verify when you hear the alarm.
- All staff are to be guided by their respective Fire Wardens and should evacuate immediately using the nearest exit and proceed to the designate Assembly Area when:
2.1 The announcement for evacuation is declared over the public address system or.
2.2 The 2nd fire alarm bell sounds continuously or:
2.3 Instructed by Fire Wardens to do so. (Fire at your area) - When an evacuation is announced, all staff are to instruci patients/visitors on their floor/department o evacuate immediately.
When evacuating, stay calm but walk quickly down the staircase by the nearest exit or honzontally jo the patient lift areas. Do not use the lift. - On reaching the Assembly Area, the Fire Warden shall conduct a roll call of the staff present and report the evacuation status to the Assembly Area Coordinator.
All staft/patients/visitors shall not re-anter the building unless instructed otherwise by the Singapore Civil Defenca Force Officer in attendance.
How do you use fire extinguisher
P- Pull pin between the handle
A-Aim the nozzle of the base of the fire
S-Squeeze the handle
S- Sweep from side to side
How do you use the hose reel
P-Pull and swing out the hose reel drum
0-Open the water supply valve
R-Roll out the hose to the required length T-Turn on the nozzle and aim at the base of fire
S-Spray water over the fire
Where is the assembly area?
YCH Ward Assembly Area - at KTPH Tower C (Level 4, Link bridge through Tower B)
What is the fire evacuation plan?
If location of the fire is near the ward, prepare for evacuation according to the fire evacuation process.
Fire occurs at the back?
-Nurse will move patients away from the cubicles. Ward will standby for further instructions and wait for arrival of CERT members.
-Horizontal evacuation- if fire unable to contain, SIC wll advise horizontal evacuation.
Nurse will listen to public address for instructions.
-All patients will move to opposite ward and stay for further instructions.
-IF for vertical evacuation awaits advice from SCDF.

What is the purpose of the green line in the supply room?
Not to occlude with any items above the green line, incase when there is a fire, water splashes from the sprinkler will not be able to reach above the green line. Distance from green line to the ceiling: 0.5m
