Cat M - Manual, non-automatic.
Cat L - automatic protection of life
Cat p - protection of property

L1 - earliest detection systems
L2 - same as L3 with early detection in high risk areas
L3 - early enough detection and warning
L4 - provides detection in escape routes.
L5 - localised need

P1 - earliest possible warnign to minimise firefighting attendance.
P2 - defined high risk areas - mitiagte risk against business continuity and property.
