If both cargo fire extinguishing bottles are used in the front cargo compartment in the case of smoke, how is the rear cargo compartment protected against smoke / fire?
It isn’t… Only two bottles are available to be used for either the front or back. SOL… bad day
After the cargo fire extinguisher high rate bottle is discharged, when does the low rate bottle discharge.
If in the air, one minute later it is automatically discharged.
If on the ground, the CARGO SMOKE FWD / AFT button must be pushed again. This is due to the variable of fire crews being present or not.
If no EICAS message is present what does pushing the CARGO SMOKE FWD / AFT accomplish?
The high rate bottle is then armed.
The result is having to push it twice in the air and three times on the ground to accomplish the same without an EICAS message present
