What are the engine/APU fire detection system consist of?
- Sensor tube filled with helium and hydrogen
- Alarm switch - detection fail
- Integrity switch - eng fire
Can you activate the APU Fire Extinguishing system with batteries off?
No, it’s on DC Bus 2
Can you activate Engine fire extinguishing system with the batteries off?
Yes, it’s on the Hot Bus
When you do fire test what EICAS msgs do you see?
- APU FIRE
- ENG 1(2) FIRE
- BAGG SMOKE
- APU FIREDET FAIL
- E1 (2) FIREDET FAIL
What happens when you press the APU Fire Extinguishing Button?
The APU fuel shutoff valve closes and APU extinguishing bottles are discharged
What happens if you hold the fire detection test button for less than 2 sec or more than 10 sec?
Less than 2 sec: baggage fire ext. button remains illuminated
More than 10 sec: APU will shut down
What happens when baggage compartment button is pressed?
- Both Butter Fly Valves ate close
- Extg. Bottles discharge
- Fan is deactivated
