BRAKE Flashcards
BCU is also responsible for:
1) Anti-Skid Protection
2) Wheel locked protection
3) Touchdown protection
Anti-Skid Protection
- Available > 10 kts
- BCU Monitors wheels velocity compares it against the pedal deflection and if wheel speed is slower it will reduce brakes on that one wheel
What’s monitoring brake pressure?
Pressure transducers
Brake system consist of:
1) Normal braking
2) Emergency braking
3) gear retraction in-flight braking
How to check brake wear?
Top/bottom brake wear indicators
Locked wheel protection
- Active Wheel speed > 30 kts
* if one wheel speed is lower than others but 30% BCU will relieve all braking for that one wheel
What supplies normal brake system?
• Hydraulic system #1,2
• Electrically commanded and monitored
( Brake by wire )
Normal braking without valid ground WOW signals
Active down to 10kts ( use emergency brake to stop )
Touchdown protection
Whichever happens first:
1) WOW + 3 sec
2) Wheel speed of 50 kts
Done through BCU and Shut off valves
Electrical system of normal brakes
BCU | Shut off valves ( each side ) | 1,4------------2,3 ( brake control valves)
