DESCRIBE THE FOLLOWING SWITCHES : LH ENG & JET, APU, RH ENG & JET

ENG – Zone around aft end of the engine core and the fixed side core cowl panel.
JET – Zone around engine exhaust unit cowls and pylon areas containing 10th stage and 14th stage bleed air ducts.
Both of these zones as well as the APU are protected by dual loops and require a fire signal from both to activate the associated FIRE MASTER WARNING.
A – Selects loop A only for associated switch.
BOTH – Selects both loops for associated switch.
B - Selects loop B only for associated switch.

Shuts off FUEL SOV

3 Green ENG BOTTLE 1 ARMED PUSH TO DISCH, APU BOTTLE ARMED PUSH TO DISCH and ENG BOTTLE 2 PUSH TO DISH lights illuminate
5 red MASTER WARNING EICAS messages are displayed:
L/R ENG FIRE
L/R JETPIPE OVHT
APU FIRE
After 10 Seconds 5 MASTER CAUTION EICAS messages are displayed to indicate the associated fire SOV’s have not closed:
L/R FUEL SOV
L/R HYD SOV
APU SOV

WHAT DOES THE FAIL POSITION OF THE FIRE TEST SWITCH DO?

FAIL – Simulates a short in the selected loop(s) and tests the ability to discriminate between a false fire and real fire. The following 5 MASTER CAUTION EICAS messages are displayed:

L/R JET OVHT FAIL
