Final: Chapter 9: Flashcards
4 ligaments of hip joint:
iliofemoral, pubofemoral, teres ligament and ischofemoral lig
Hip joint- acetabulofemoral
relatively stable, strong ligaments, supportive muscles, most mobile
Enarthrodial-type joint
Iliofemoral limits
Located anteriorly. Limits hyperextension.
Pubofemoral limits
Extension and abduction
Teres limits
adduction
Ischiofemoral ligament limits
limits internal rotation
ROM of hip:
130 flexion 30 extension 45 abduction 30 adduction 45 internal rotation 50 external rotation
Pelvic girdle moves in how many planes?
6 different movements
Six two joint muscles that have one action at hip and knee:
semitenditous, semimembranous, long head biceps femoris, gracilis, sartorius, IT band
anterior muscles involved in hip flexion
iliopsoas, pectineus, rectus femoris, sartorius
Medial muscles involved in hip adduction
adductor brevis, adductor longus, adductor magnus, gracilis
Posterior in hip extension
gluteus maximus, biceps femoris, semiteninosus, semimembranosus, external rotators
Lateral muscles in hip abduction
gluetus medius, gluteus minimus, external rotators, TFL
Pelvic muscles made up of 3 muscles:
iliacus, psoas major/ minor
All hip and pelvic muscles innervated by which plexus?
Lumbar and sacral (lumbosacral)
Lumbar plexus innverates which part of spine?
L1-L4
Sacral innverates which part of spine?
L4, L5 and S1-S4
