Collective violence
prison violence that is between and initiated by groups of inmates and include riots and disturbances; stems from fundamental differences and not personal

groups that form in prison and use the threat of violence to intimidate other inmates, control drug sales and gain power/influence

identification of the number of identifiers of gang activity used to confirm individuals’ gang involvement
Debrief
gang members tell officials everything they know about the operations of the gang; once debrief is complete they become an enemy of the gang

staff charged with collecting intelligence and advising others about the strategies to manage and contain gang activity
