A

Gancivlovir (valganciclovir - prodrug), Cidofovir, Foscarnet

Roseola virus

A

Roseola infantum (exanthum subitum, Sixth disease)
3 days fever, then transient rash
Abx prescribed for fever - rash blamed on penicillin allergy
Most common cause of febrile convulsions
Latent in mono/lymphocytes
Can cause pneumonitis, hepatitis, encephalitis in BMT
Diagnosis - BLood PCR
Rx - Ganciclovir, foscarnet or cidofivir
