A

Male and female gametes join together and their nuclei fuse

How does fertilisation occur?

A

1) Pollen grain grows a pollen tube through the style to the ovary
2) Nucleus of the pollen then travels down the tube
3) It joins together with the nucleus of the ovule (fertilisation)

What happens after fertilisation?

A

Fertilised ovule becomes the seed and the ovary wall becomes the fruit (pericarp)
