Tree trunks can be cut into strips to produce timber
What can timber be used for?
Building eg. pine, oak

Pulped and turned into paper
What important products are extracted from crushed seeds?
Oils
What can these oils be used for?
Cosmetics, cooking, medicine and toiletries
How can plants be used for food?
Food crops are grown using agriculture
What are the three most important food crops?
Grains/cereals (grass seeds) like rice, wheat and corn
What are some other important crops?
Beans, seeds, nuts, fruits, veggies, herbs, spices, tea, coffee
How can plants be used for fuel?
By cutting down trees, fuel is made for cooking and heating in many countries
What problems does cutting down trees cause?
Deforestation, pollution, reduce biodiversity, lose habitats
What is a more sustainable solution?
Grow plants or use waste plants to produce biofuels, like bioethanol which is made from fermented sugar cane
What is bioethanol made from?
Fermented sugar cane
