Femoral Triangle Flashcards
What does it contain?
Fem nerve - innervates ant compartment of thigh
Fem sheath: Fem A (+branches) - Arterial supply for majority of the lower limb
Fem V - The great saphenous vein drains into the femoral vein within the triangle
Fem canal - Contains lymph nodes and vessels
Borders
Superior (base of triangle): Inguinal ligament
Lateral: Med border of sartorius
Medial: Med border of add longus
Floor and roof
Floor- add longus, pectineus (med), psoas major and illiacus muscles (lat)
-gutter shaped as all muscles forming the floor pass to post aspect of femur
Roof- skin, superficial and deep fascia (fascia lata, cribiform fascia) of thigh and subcutaneous tissue
