Patriarchy
A system of society or government in which men hold power and women are largely excluded
First wave feminism
Period of feminist activity and thought that occurred within the time period of the 19th and early 20th century. Focused on legal issues primarily on gaining women’s suffrage
Second wave feminism
Broadened the debate to wide range of issues sexuality family the workplace reproductive rights and official legal inequalities. Second wave feminism also drew attention to domestic violence and marital rape issues and establishment of rape
Third wave feminism
Movement partially as a response to the seat values of and backlash against initiative and movement created by the second wave feminism during the 60s 70s and 80s and the perception that women are many colours ethnicities and nationalities et cetera
Radical feminism
Calls for a radical re-ordering of society when male supremacy is eliminated all social and economic contexts
Sexual harassment
Harassment involving the making of unwanted sexual advances or obscene remarks
Marxist feminism
Women are oppressed through capitalist economic practices and the system of private property
Reserve army of labour
Women are brought into the job market during economic beams but Are thrown out in slumps
Liberal feminism
Is it on women’s ability to maintain their quality through their own actions and choices
Black feminism
Developed out of a desertification with other forms of feminism but do not focus on black women’s issues
Doubles disadvantaged
Being female and black and the obstacles faced by those are
Triple systems theory
Class race gender or combine to create multiple sources of deprivation and inequality
Post feminism
Reactions against contradictions and absence in feminism
Six structures of patriarchies
Status, violence, culture, household paid ,work and sexuality
Preference theory
Explains and critics women’s choices regarding investment in productive or reproductive work
