What are the functions of the ovaries?
They produce egg cells and secrete the hormones progesterone and oestrogen.
What is the function of the fallopian tubes?
They transport egg cells from the ovary to the uterus and are the site of fertilisation.
What does the uterus do?
It houses and protects the embryo and foetus during pregnancy.
What is the function of the endometrium?
It is the site of implantation and where the placenta forms
What does the cervix do?
It stretches and opens to allow the baby through during childbirth.
What are the functions of the vagina?
It receives the penis and semen during sexual intercourse, serves as the birth canal, and allows menstrual blood to pass.
What is the function of the vulva?
It protects the entrance to the vagina.
