A

Variant on sonata form - slow introduction leading to quick 1 in a bar feel; Beethoven, Mozart and Mannheim influences.

Mvt 1: Expo

A

Follows typical keys - minor then relative major. S1 has scherzo quick 1 in a bar 3/4 feel, fiery similar to Mozart 25.4 follows by lyrical 2nd theme led by woodwind, oboe in particular.

Typical sonata form - octave unison opening in strings, 2nd subject lyrical woodwind, exposition repeat removed. Development contains alternation between strong rhythmic unison strings and relaxed, rubato woodwind moments and silence.
