Does Starr have any other restaurants?
Yes, many! In DC: Le Diplomate, El Presidente, and Pastis. There are also restaurants in Philly, Miami, New York, Atlantic City. Joe Carroll’s restaurants are primarily in Brooklyn, NY and include Fette Sau, St. Anselm, Casino Clam Bar, and his beer bar, Spuyten Duyvil.
Why is St. Anselm named St. Anselm?
After Joe Carroll’s Grandfather.

What else have they designed?

Can you eat at the bar?
yes! Full menu available at the bar.
How far in advance can I make a reservation?
28 days
Do you have gluten-free options?
We do not have a specific menu, but will make reasonable accommodations for dietary restrictions.
I have a birthday in my party, what can you do for a birthday?
We will gladly mark your reservation for the birthday and send a candle in any dessert you order.
Can I reserve the beefsteak room for a large a la carte party?
beefsteak will be a set public event of might be booked as a private event. Separately - the room might be booked for a private dinner that decides on a pre-set menu (not in the beefsteak style)
Why is the beefsteak room named that?
it’s a room dedicated to the dining style that originated in 19th-century NYC. Beefsteak dinners were banquet-style events that typically centered around fundraising. The environment was jovial and indulgent- consisting of all-you-could-eat meat and beer without utensils or napkins.
Is there a corkage fee? If yes, how much and what is the policy?
$45 per 750ml bottle. The bottle must not be on our list and must be opened on-site. Guests may bring 2 750ml or 1 magnum per 2 guests at a table.
Is there an outside dessert fee and if so, how much?
yes. $4 per person.
Will we use any 3rd party delivery services?
We will not offer delivery or online ordering currently.
How many seats does the restaurant have?
Total: 267 maximum.
