What happens when a Police officer is served a po?
> MUST IMMED report in writing incl details of proceedings to s/visor
who advises HR Mgr and PPC Mgr - COC processes apply
IF THEY DO NOT REPORT then this is taken into account in code of conduct process
What happens when a Police officer is an applicant of a a po?
Report confidentiality to Police Welfare Off and/or S/visor to ensure EAP and support provided
What are the rules around po’s and children?
- All children to appl family protected
- YP older than 18+ protected until they leave home
- children no living with appl MUST be identified in order or they apply themselves
Can you take out a po on your children?
-Appl incl parents CANNOT take out po on children or yp UNLESS aged 16 and over, AND special circumstances (s64 FVA.18)
What are spec circumstances to get PSO on yp 16 yr and 17 yrs?
- RGB - it is necessary to make the YPs family safe from serious FV AND
- SAFV and Dynamic risk assmt HIGH AND
- S/Sgt approval obtained AND
- Auth S/Sgt has consulted with OT
All POs from 1 Jul 2019 have additions conditions -

if appl wants contact w resp appl MUST give consent in writing, email or letter (other digi message)
-Stopping contact
appl can withdraw consent at any time in any way -don’t need to do it in writing
> Variations to orders relating to property
> FV/abuse and psych abuse definitions
- incl ill treatment of pets other animal important to appl
- loitering near work
- disrupting care of someone needs it due to age, mental health, disability or health incl one-offs or pattern behaviour, coercion/controlling and dowry related offences
