How can EIT be identified/reported?
- Self referral: can be via s/visor, phone or generic email
- Peers: colleagues approach s/visor
- S/visors identify struggling employees
Explain engagement/intervention phase?
> DL contact S/visor, assess, both determine if EIT meeting needed.
MAIN focus of DL is help FACILITATE/SUPPORT S/visors in cond EIT mtgs
Is VOLUNTARY - no action taken if they do not wish to be involved - and if they chose not to then a record is retained in IAPRO.
Is the EIT data confidential?
> Yes no info is to be held on empl file - S/visors and DLs cannot disclose info without the persons consent, UNLESS >DISC nec to PREVENT/LESSEN HARM, HEALTH to that person or public
AVOID the prej to the main of law

Is EIT a disciplinary sanction?
No, UNLESS to assist in removing employee for some reason and EIT data is needed when looking at the hrx of the employee
Define COI
Where our PERSONAL/PROFESSIONAL interest may conflict with our positions, obligation or responsibility as Police
Define actual, perceived and potential coi
> ACTUAL: THERE IS A conflict btwn our duties ad other interest that COULD interfere with ability to be impartial
PERCEIVED: how OTHER people would view our interests - this is as bad as being actual
POTENTIAL: have potential to COI
Why are coi’s significant to Police?
we have access to people info, private and confidential
What do you do if you have an actual, perceived or potential coi?
> NOTIFY s/visor asap
>COMPLETE FORMS - declaration/agreement forms
