Communicating the importance of LNT
-difficult as people assign different meanings to the words used to describe LNT
- develops a heightened environmental ethic and strengthens relationshisps
- after learning, changes of behaviour can be observed
- they are moral values which aim to modify not control behaviour
- as more people visit natural places, there is a greater demand for resources producing impacts which need to be maintained to appeal future users.
Demonstration and Rolemodelling
- effective method of changing behaviour when in the environment
- teaching others through personal actions, verbal communication and body language
- lead by example and avoid double standards

A feature to point out to the group to educate about LNT which encourages discussion
Values Classification
- helps people to work out their values
- behaviours are changed once values are clarified

Volunteering
- involves giving back to the environment
- seeing firsthand the damage caused by improper behaviour
- opportunity to learn the importance of teaching LNT and to work and interact with others
Current Events
Provide information for interesting and thought provoking discussions regarding LNT e.g. climate change.
Environmental Interpretation
Bring meaning and relationships through original resources and objects, not communication, with the aim to instruct not provoke
Talks or scripts
Orientation talks through a muesuem
Guided walks/trails
Take a group from a start to end point through pathways or bush trails with pre determined stops. Aiming to direct attention to certain aspects that wouldnt be noticed otherwise
Exhibits and Signs
HIghlight important points and direct attention towards certain aspects, capturing attention
Self guided trails
Multiple stops to gather information which yields knowledge about a particularising theme, assists untrained individuals
Facilitation; Stimulation
Develops new understandings

Audience - know the backgrounds and relationships of the group
Resources - things like forrests and rivers which can be used to convey the interpretation
Technqiue - application of an idea of interpretation
