- Physical exam complete & documented
- Cardioresp adaptation
- Temp stable
- Urine & 1 stool
- 2 feeds
- Maternal serology reviewed
- NBS done >= 24 hr or arrangement for within 7 days
- Hearing screening done or scheduled
- Bili at discharge or 72 hours of life, whichever first
- Vit K and ophthalmia neonatorum proph
- HBV and BCG
- Approved car seat
- POS at 24-36 hrs of life

- infant feeding (importance of BFing)
- normal newborn behaviour and care
- recognition of early signs of illness (jaundice, dehydration, sepsis)
- infant safety (car seat use, safe sleep practices, other measures to decrease risk of SIDS)
- Infection control measures
- importance of smoke-free environment
