What are the diseases caused by Malnutrition?
Too much nutrition - Obesity (overweight)
Too little nutrition - Anorexia nervosa (underweight)
What is BMI of a normal weight person?
Between 18.5 and 24.9
What is Anorexia nervosa?
Mental disease
Not willing to eat food
Cause death
What is balanced diet?
Consist of all the food substance in the right amount and proportion
What is basic balanced diet?
Less meat and fat
More cereal
More dietary fibres
What are the factors that affect dietary requirements?
Age - child needs more energy (greater heat loss), more calcium (make bone), more protein (for growth) and more iron
Gender - male needs more energy (larger body size, more active lifestyle, less subcutaneous fat)
Level of activity - more muscular activities needs more energy
Body status - pregnant woman needs more carbohydrates, protein (especially), minerals, vitamin, breast-feeding mother
