Central pathway of eye movements
Brodmann area 8 Superior colliculi Paramedic area of reticular formation Nucleus interstitialis Cajal Fasciculus longitudinalis medialis -> motoneurons of CN3,4 and 6 nuclei
Pathway of horizontal eye movement
Brodmann area 8 - internal capsule - reticular formation in midbrain - reticular formation in pons - descending branch to contralateral abducent nucleus - ascending branch to ipsilateral oculomotor nucleus via fasiculus longitudinalis medialis
Pathway of vertical eye movement
Brodmann area 8 - internal capsule - nucleus interstitialis Cajals - fasciculus longitudinalis medialis - motoneurons CN3 and 4 nuclei
Blood supply of retina
Ophthalmic artery
- central retinal artery
- ciliary artery from choroidea
Superior and inferior ophthalmic vein
Color vision
3 type of cones: S,M,L
